That would be Heike - a transplant from Germany, who never had to spell her name back home. So, how do you pronounce HEIKE: 'Hi-Kuh'.

I was born with a camera in my hand. Well, maybe not quite. But definitely with one in my face. This whole photography thing is all my Dad's fault. He was a passionate hobby photographer and was the first one to introduce me to this Art. He showed me tricks and skills of traditional photography.

I love adding to that knowledge through continuing education constantly. In 2018, I earned my national certification as a professional photographer (CPP) through the PPA, the organization for over 30,000 professional photographers (not only) in America. Currently, I am the only one in the WI Rapids, Nekoosa, Port Edwards area who holds this degree. If you want to know a little more about it, click here: ppa.com 

There's always something new to learn and a better way of doing things.

Over the years, my business has developed into a true family business. My children have helped me in all kinds of ways during sessions and events that we were hired to photograph. It's pretty exciting to have your very own 'bring your kid to work' day! So, much to teach and so much to learn! Also, I couldn't run this business without my husband, Danny! He's the one who made it possible in the first place and never stops helping me with everything I need and almost anything I want. I always have an assistant and sometimes a second photographer with me. Since my family knows me well, it makes a session go quite smoothly, when said assistants one of my kids and my dear husband.

For many years, I helped out as a Photographer and Digital Retouch Artist with the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation, an organization that provides remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby, offering a free gift of professional portraiture. There are currently some other charity avenues I am looking at - the wheels are turning!

My main mission as a professional portrait artist is to make you look great in your portraits. I believe that everyone can love their photos but it is up to the skills of the photographer (and the cooperation of the client) to make that happen.
